Generation of Neurospheres from Hippocampal region of E14-E16 Sprague Dawley Rat Embryo

Our own lab designed simple and cost effective protocol for the plating of high and low densities of mixed cortical and hippocampal neurons isolated from the embryo of embryonic day 14-16 Sprague Dawley rats.This protocol allowed for the generation of neurospheres and long-term primary neuron culture as two independent platforms to conduct further studies. This process is extremely simple and cost-effective, as it minimizes several steps and reagents previously deemed essential for neuron culture. This is a robust protocol with minimal requirements that can be performed with achievable results and further used for a diversity of studies related to neuroscience. Welcome To Our Lab

Our Chemical Microtubule Biology laboratory is part of the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur. We are available at lab no. 301 at second floor of chemistry building. Our lab is working at the interface of chemistry and biology which involve peptide synthesis, small molecule synthesis against Alzheimer’s disease and Cancer. Our interest also include Chemical Biology (Microtubule Function, ROS & Stem Cells) and designing Biophysical Platform for understanding biological events.

Open Position

Interested candidates with experience in Biology & Chemistry interface with Valid CSIR/ICMR/GATE/GPAT scholarship are highly encouraged to apply for PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in my group & may send their CV at: sghosh@iitj.ac.in
